What's Happening at The Pine Barn Inn -- April 2008
As of November 15, 2007 the entire Pine Barn Inn, a Geisinger-owned property, is designated a nonsmoking area, both indoors and out, in accordance with the Geisinger Health System's policy of a smoke-free campus.
We are now a completely nonsmoking facility, indoors and out. We realize this policy will inconvenience some of our guests. We apologize for the inconvenience, but do ask for your cooperation in following Geisinger's policy. The no smoking policy is another step along Geisinger's continual path toward improved health for everyone who visits their facilities.
For those who feel they must smoke, an area where smoking is permitted is the public sidewalk along the south side of Bloom Road at the south end of the Pine Barn Inn property. If you smoke in your room, you will be charged an additional cleaning fee of $250. Please do not smoke in your room!
Wired & Wireless High Speed Internet Access available! We have just completed installation of a new HSIA system that offers both a wired connection in your hotel room and also a wireless connection throughout all Pine Barn Inn buildings. We proudly offer this complimentary high speed internet access to our hotel guests and restaurant patrons. We have started our Hotel Lobby and Front Desk renovations! Our plans include new desks in the loft, a new front desk, new carpeting, paint, lighting, several seating arrangements, and a large screen flat panel TV. Please excuse the mess and take care navigating around the plastic dust sheeting. We will be closing our East Entrance and the lobby staircase during the heaviest construction periods. We ask all guests to use our South Entrance or Tavern Entrance into the restaurant. Please use the South Entrance of the restaurant for Hotel Checkin. Thanks again for your patience during our renovations!
On Mother's Day, May 11th, 2008,
we will be serving only a buffet from 11am until 3pm. Ordering
off the menu will not be available during these hours. The
restaurant will then be closed from 3pm until 5pm. We will serve
a la
carte from a limited menu from 5pm until our 8pm closing time.

Our Sunday Menus are now as follows: From 8am until 2pm we will offer our regular breakfast menu; we also have a special Sunday Dinner Menu available from 11am until 2pm and will serve from our regular daily dinner menu on Sundays from 2pm until 8pm.

Some GPS systems cannot locate our "1 Pine Barn Place" address. You can use Geisinger's address: 100 N. Academy Ave, Danville, PA 17822 as an alternate that will work. The Pine Barn Inn is located on Geisinger's campus in Danville immediately below the main hospital building at the northwest corner of Bloom Street and North Academy Avenue.
The Pine Barn Inn announces a partnership with national Board Certified Massage Therapist Lonnie Shires. She will offer Swedish massage or Reflexology therapy at the Inn with an advance appointment during the following hours: Mon-Wed-Fri from 1pm-9pm and Tues-Thur-Sat from 9am-5pm. Please call her at 570-275-1226 to schedule a session or for more information. A 10% discount on her already low rates is available if you make the short trip to her office in downtown Danville for your massage.
Our Pet Policy has changed: After experiencing a rash of issues which we'd rather avoid, we no longer accepts pets in any of our hotel rooms. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause some of our loyal guests, but feel this change is necessary to maintain the quality of our other guests' experiences here at the Pine Barn Inn. Call us if you would like a referral to a local boarding kennel.
Stay active while you travel. We offer several solutions for the difficult task of maintaining the momentum of your physical fitness routine while on the road. If the weather is inclement, try our clean and well-lit Fitness Room located in our '300' building. This room is available for adult guest use from 6am until 11pm daily. Use the stationary bicycle and stair climber, or enjoy a walk or run on the new treadmill. In nicer weather our Front Desk staff can also direct you to several running loops through residential Danville or to a local trail run if you prefer changing scenery! The Danville area is a cyclist's dream with its combination of hills, flats, and the large number of paved, but lightly traveled roads so bring your bike if you have time. Swimmers should check out the pool at the Danville Area Community Center. Complimentary access to this facility is included while you are a guest at the Pine Barn Inn. In any case, keep moving!
If our Fitness Room isn't comprehensive enough for you, we offer complimentary use of the Danville Area Community Center's facility during your stay as a guest of the Pine Barn Inn. This facility features a heated 6-lane pool, a racquetball court, indoor gymnasium, and fitness room. Aerobic trainers and LifeCycle-brand weight machines for circuit training highlight their renovated fitness room. Ask our desk staff about the details of this free program.
Online Reservations are bookable through our website, though only a limited selection of our rooms are available online. If you don't find what you want online, please check with us by phone. (We intend to offer all of our rooms online in the near future.) Please be aware that reservations made online, if then unneeded, must be canceled at least 2 days in advance in accordance with our online cancellation policy. An advance deposit is required for all online reservations. This deposit is only partially refundable due to a nonrefundable commission charged by our online booking agent. We continue to offer quick, friendly, and helpful assistance to those who prefer to make room or restaurant reservations by phone. Typically making a reservation takes only a few minutes. We have added a few new twists to our Happy Hour Specials served in the tavern from 5-7pm weekdays. Stop by with some friends to relax after your workday.
